Boy, What a Great Weekend!
It's a boy - we're having a baby boy. Our weekend started Thursday morning with this great news, and that afternoon, I went baby BOY clothes shopping. It was a lot of fun (but I agree that girl clothes are still cuter)!
Then we started mass preparation for Avery's Sesame Street 2nd birthday party. What a hit! I picked up the cake, which was AMAZING! My mom and I set up stations - Cookie Monster's Cookie Factory (for cookie decorating), Big Bird's Nest (a ball pit), Elmo's World (a tent with Sesame Street stuffed animals & books), Abby's Activity Area (infant play area), Telly's Tunnel (a playground with tunnel, climbing wall, & slide), Bert & Ernie's Beach Party (a sand box with Moon Sand & water with floating Sesame Street characters), and Count's Corner (an activity mat with climbing steps). It was SO much fun! And what we couldn't believe was the parents...in a good way, of course :). When the party was over, there wasn't even a mess. All the parents were so good about cleaning up after themselves and their children, that all we had to do was sweep.
It was a good thing, because Avery's 2nd party of the day started that evening at 6 pm. For this one, it was a lot more low-key. We had lots of family over for pizza & cookie cake. And we all helped Avery open and play with all her gifts. We celebrated Avery's birthday (on the 3rd), Toy's birthday (on the 4th), and Vijay's birthday (on the 5th). (Although Vijay was in Vegas, so we just saved him some cake.)
Thank you to all the friends and family that made this such a great 2nd birthday for Avery. I can almost guarantee you that next year, the party won't be at our house, though. I am EXHAUSTED!!
Here's my new favorite video of Avery. She's singing Ring Around the Rosie before bed...Enjoy!
