July 4th & Baby News

Sorry it's been so long since I've written. Honestly, our lives have been pretty boring. I have been super-sick, so we haven't done too much for the last three weeks. So, my sickness is because we are expecting Baby #2. We went to the doctor this Thursday, and everything looks good. I am currently 9 weeks pregnant. The heartbeat was 182 beats/minute. OMG! Avery's was usually in the 150's. The old wive's tale is that the faster heartrates are usually girls, and slower are boys. I hope it's wrong in this case, because we really want a little boy. Here are some pictures:

The doctor gave me some medicine for my nausea, so I'm starting to feel a lot better. Maybe not 100%, but at least 80%. I'll go back in 4 weeks for another ultrasound, and 5 weeks for my next appointment. We'll be keeping you posted.

On a different note, we went to Tyler for July 4th. It was SO hot that we mostly stayed inside. Since I was sick, I spent equal time between the couch, bed, and bathroom. Basically, the thought of any food absolutely repulsed me, and could make me sick in itself. If I let my stomach get too empty, I would get sick. But it's hard to keep eating when your stomach constantly feels like the morning after a really bad hangover. The only food that I could manage to keep down was crackers, bread, rice, and soup. Even water disgusted me. I am so glad for the medication!

Miraculously, I felt pretty good on the 4th (so good that I was worried that something was wrong with the baby). We played in the sprinklers and an inflatable pool, and ate junk food. Then we did our home-grown fireworks show which turned out very good. Covered in sweat and mosquito spray, we all headed indoors, and got a pretty early night's sleep.

I'll write back soon with more updates.
